Beat Reporting
As a highlighted story from my semester beat, I covered D.C. Councilmember Brooke Pinto’s public safety bill and the local pushback it received. The legislation aimed to reduce violent crime, but advocacy groups argued it focused too heavily on enforcement rather than long-term prevention
